Native to Montana, Lena is a multidisciplinary artist. Inspired to create at an early age, her community and curiosity fostered an eclectic artistic education across many mediums. Heavily influence by Bozeman's Cottonwood Club. Especially the woodblock carvings of Jay Schmidt and the ideas of his Free Art School. Printmaking opened the door to a new sharable expression. Like history's first etched plates disseminating knowledge unknown, there is liberation in its ability to be pressed again and again. And as for generations past, community and understanding grow as art is freely shared.
